Make homemade stuffing balls this Christmas with the help of your air-fryer. These crispy sage and onion stuffing balls are super easy and are made with ingredients you likely already have at home! See method
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 tsp dried sage
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 155g Tesco Free From sliced white bread (roughly 4 slices)
- 10g flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
- ½ garlic & thyme stock pot, dissolved in 200ml boiling water

Method
- Take the slices of bread and blend to a rough crumb. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat, add the onion and cook for 10 mins, stirring occasionally, until softened. Add the breadcrumbs, sage and nutmeg and cook for a further 5 mins until the breadcrumbs are lightly golden.
- Tip the mix into a large bowl, then mix through the parsley and hot stock until evenly distributed; season with freshly ground black pepper. Cover with a tight-fitting plate and set aside to absorb for 10 mins until there is no excess liquid and you have a slightly sticky mixture.
- Use lightly damp hands to shape the mix into 12 equal-sized balls, roughly 30g each. Place on the shelf of the air-fryer and cook at 180°C for 8-10 mins until lightly golden. Serve on a plate or platter.
Tip: You can shape these stuffing balls up to 48 hrs in advance, store in the fridge and cook just before you’re ready to serve.
