Fancy an indulgent Christmas dessert using just your microwave? This tangy chocolate orange tart is just for you. Simply prepare the filling in the microwave, assemble and leave to set in the fridge. A low-energy, no-fuss dessert that's great for ending your Christmas dinner in style. See method
Ingredients
- 100g thick-cut marmalade
- 1 sweet pastry case
- 150ml double cream
- 2 tbsp caster sugar
- 250g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids), 100g finely chopped
- 1 orange, cut into 0.5cm slices

Method

Stir the marmalade to loosen it a little, then spread over the base of the tart case. Put the cream and sugar in a microwaveable bowl and microwave on high for 1 min, stirring halfway, until steaming but not bubbling. Add the chopped chocolate and set aside for 2 mins before stirring together.

Pour the ganache directly over the marmalade, then spread out to level. Leave to set in the fridge for 1 hr. Use a vegetable peeler to peel curls from the remaining chocolate; top the tart with the orange slices and curls. Will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.
