Miso caramel apple crumble recipe

Give classic apple crumble a glow-up with a drizzle of caramel sauce. We've added a spoonful of miso paste to the caramel for deep and rich flavours. Serve alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy. See method
Ingredients
- 150g plain flour
- 100g soft light brown sugar
- 100g butter, cubed
- 6 Braeburn apples, peeled, cored and cut into 2cm chunks
- 2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut into 2cm chunks
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp Tesco Finest salted caramel sauce
- ½ tsp miso paste
- vanilla ice cream, to serve (optional)

Method
- Preheat the oven to gas 4, 180°C, fan 160°C. Mix the plain flour and 70g sugar together until evenly combined. Using your fingertips, rub the butter into the dry ingredients until the mix resembles rough breadcrumbs.
- In a medium-sized ovenproof dish, toss the apples, cinnamon and 30g sugar together until evenly coated. Top with the crumble mix and bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 40-45 mins until the fruit is soft and the crumble is lightly golden.
- Mix the caramel and miso together in a bowl and microwave for 30 secs until smooth and a pourable consistency.
- Divide the crumble between 4 bowls and serve drizzled with the miso caramel with a spoon of vanilla ice cream on the side, if you like.
