Method
- Preheat a barbecue. Lightly oil the burgers and place on the grill. Cook for 7 mins, then flip and cook for a further 2 mins. Top each burger with a cheese slice and cook for 3 mins more until the cheese has melted and the burger is cooked through. Remove from the heat and allow to rest for a few mins.
- Toast the cut sides of the buns on the barbecue for 20-30 secs until crisp.
- Mix together all the ingredients for the burger sauce until well combined (this can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 week).
- Add a handful of shredded lettuce to the base of each burger bun. Top with a burger, tomato slice and spoonful of burger sauce, then top with the bun lid. Serve straight away.
Tip: The burgers can also be cooked indoors under the grill. Preheat to medium-high and grill for 12-14 mins, turning occasionally. Add the cheese for the last 30 secs of cooking and leave to rest as above.
