Ingredients
- 1½ tsp cumin seeds
- 1½ tsp coriander seeds
- 1 x 400g tin chickpeas
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 tbsp tahini (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
If you don't have chickpeas, you can use any tinned bean in water

Method
- In a food processor, whizz the chickpeas (reserving a handful to garnish) lemon juice, tahini, olive oil, chilli flakes, garlic and most of the crushed cumin and coriander seeds until combined.
- Season to taste then whizz again, gradually adding water to reach your desired consistency. Top with the reserved chickpeas, a pinch of crushed spices and olive oil. Serve with warm pitta bread or crudités.
