Celebrate Lunar New Year with this simple 5-ingredient sweet and sour beef noodle recipe. Stir-fry beef strips and peppers in a shortcut sauce and serve over egg noodles for an easy Chinese-inspired midweek meal. See method
Ingredients
- 250g dried medium egg noodles
- 357g beef stir-fry strips
- ½ tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 320g pepper stir-fry mix
- 2 x 180g sweet and sour stir-fry sauce
If you haven't got any egg noodles, try using pasta like spaghetti instead

Method
- Cook the noodles to pack instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Heat a large wok over a high heat until just smoking, then toss the beef strips in the oil and fry for 4-5 mins, moving them occasionally, until well browned; remove to a plate. Cook the stir-fry mix in the wok, stirring frequently, for 3-4 mins until tender. Add the beef and sauce and toss together for 1 min until warmed through.
- Serve the stir-fry on a bed of noodles with any remaining sauce drizzled over.
