Ingredients
- 150g caster sugar
- 250ml white wine
- ½ vanilla pod, split
- 2 Conference pears, peeled, stalks on
- 50g Tesco Finest salted caramel sauce
- 50ml single cream, to serve

Method
- Put the sugar, white wine, 250ml water and the vanilla into a small saucepan set over a high heat. Bring to the boil, then simmer for 5-6 mins until the sugar has dissolved.
- Trim the bases of the pears slightly (so they will stand upright when you serve them). Lay the pears in the pan; the liquid should cover them. Reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 40-45 mins until tender. Remove the pears from the pan and leave to cool slightly.
- Just before serving, heat the caramel sauce in a small pan set over a medium heat until warmed through.
- To serve, divide the salted caramel between 2 serving dishes and top each with a pear. Pour over the cream.
