Loaded with Worcestershire sauce, mustard, paprika and tomato ketchup, this is not your average BBQ sauce. Not only does it work as deliciously as a marinade as it does a condiment, but it takes just 10 minutes to make, making it the perfect way to give your meals instant flavour this summer. See method

Ingredients

  • 300g (10 1/2oz) tomato ketchup
  • 75ml (2 1/2fl oz) cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 50g (1 3/4oz) dark brown sugar
  • 20g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp English mustard
  • 1 ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper, freshly ground

Method

  1. In a small saucepan, stir all the ingredients together until combined.
  2. Bubble briskly for 6-8 minutes, until reduced to a thick consistency. Cool before serving.

Tip: The sauce will keep in the fridge for up to 1 week.
