Beef bulgogi is a classic Korean recipe; strips of steak are marinated in a soy, sesame, garlic and ginger sauce before being flash fried with carrots and spring onions. This speedy 15 minute meal is perfect for a midweek treat or as part of a bigger feast with friends at the weekend. See method

Method
- Place all the marinade ingredients into a large bowl and mix together well until the sugar has dissolved. Add the steak and allow to marinade for 30 mins at room temperature.
- Add the spring onions and carrots and stir well. Place a griddle pan over a medium-high heat and allow to get really hot. Carefully spoon the meat and vegetables onto the griddle pan (in two batches if necessary) and cook for 3-4 mins over a high heat, turning occasionally until cooked and lightly charred in places. Pour over the remaining marinade for the final min of cooking. Serve with rice
