Easy spaghetti Bolognese recipe

This simple spaghetti Bolognese recipe is great for weeknight family dinners. With beef, carrots and tangy chopped tomatoes, everyone will love this Italian classic. Pair with garlic bread, and tuck in just 45 minutes. See method
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 500g 20% fat beef mince
- 3 carrots, peeled and finely chopped
- 200ml Vineyard’s fruity red wine (optional)
- 400g can Grower’s Harvest chopped tomatoes
- 1 beef stock cube
- 15g fresh basil, roughly torn
- 400g Hearty Food Co. spaghetti
- 1-pack Hearty Food Co. garlic twin baguettes, to serve (optional)
- 40g grated Cheddar cheese, to serve
If you don't have mince, cut open some sausages instead

Method
- Heat the oil in a heavy-based pan. Add the mince and season. Cook for 5-10 mins, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned.
- Add the carrots to the pan and cook for 10 mins until softened.
- Add the wine to the pan, if using, and simmer until reduced by half.
- Tip the tomatoes into the pan and crumble in the stock cube. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 mins. Stir the basil through.
- Meanwhile, cook the baguettes, if using, and spaghetti to pack instructions. Drain the spaghetti, then divide between bowls and top with the Bolognese sauce and Cheddar cheese. Serve with the baguettes.
