You've heard of pigs in blankets, but have you ever tried a fig in blanket? Maple glazed figs are wrapped in crispy bacon to make a great Christmas party canapé option. See method
Ingredients
- olive oil, for greasing
- 6 fresh figs, quartered
- 9 rashers Tesco Finest smoked dry cure streaky bacon
- 4 tsp Tesco Finest maple syrup
- 4 fresh thyme sprigs, leaves picked

Method
- Preheat the oven to gas 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. Lightly grease a baking tray. Halve each rasher through the middle. Wrap each fig quarter in a halved rasher of bacon, then transfer to the baking tray, cut-side down.
- Bake for 10 mins, then flip over so each fig is facing upwards and drizzle over the maple syrup and sprinkle over the thyme. Bake for a further 10-15 mins or until the bacon is crispy and cooked through. Serve warm.
Tip: Try swapping the bacon for prosciutto, if you like.
