Craving a colourful, non-alcoholic alternative to your favourite cocktail? This dry Paloma mocktail is just the tonic. Shake grapefruit and lime juice with honey and strain over ice into a tumbler for a zesty, Mexican-inspired no alcohol drink. See method
Ingredients
- ice cubes
- 120ml pink grapefruit juice
- 1 lime, juiced (you need 20ml), squeezed halves reserved
- 1½ tbsp clear honey
- 1 tbsp caster sugar
- 120ml soda water
- twist of grapefruit peel, to serve (optional)
If you don't have any limes, try a lemon instead

Method
- Fill a cocktail shaker or large lidded jar with ice cubes. Add the grapefruit juice, lime juice and honey. Cover, then shake until the shaker feels cold.
- Put the sugar on a small plate and run the lime halves over the rims of 2 tumblers. Turn the rims of the tumblers in the sugar to coat.
- Put a few ice cubes in each tumbler and strain the grapefruit mixture between them. Top up with soda water and garnish with a twist of grapefruit peel, if you like.
Tip: Instead of coating the rim of your glass in sugar, you could try a mix of chilli flakes and salt.
