Ingredients
- 850g large floury potatoes, cut into thick chips
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- ½ tsp garlic or onion granules (optional)
If you haven't got any Maris Pipers, try using King Edward potatoes

Method
- Preheat the oven to gas 6, 200°C, fan 180°C. Pat the chips dry with kitchen paper and transfer to a large baking tray. Toss with the oil and garlic or onion granules, if using, and season.
- Spread out in a single layer and bake for 20 mins. Turn over, then bake for a further 30 mins until golden and crisp.
