Ginger is full of health benefits and these shots, packed with vitamin C, are so easy and affordable to make at home. Or enjoy as a longer drink – just top with sparkling water. See method
Ingredients
- 250g fresh ginger, scrubbed and diced into 1cm pieces
- 700ml fresh apple juice

Method
- Put the ginger and apple juice in a blender and blend for 2-4 mins until it’s as smooth as possible. If your blender is small, you may need to do this in 2 batches. Strain through a sieve, using the back of a spoon to push through as much liquid as possible. Discard the leftover solids.
- Transfer to a clean bottle. It will keep in the fridge for up to 24 hrs, or freeze in ice-cube trays (defrost at room temperature for about 2 hrs, or overnight in the fridge). The shots will separate over time; stir or shake before serving.
