Method
These sesame banana fritters are a little bit sweet and a little bit savoury: the perfect dessert for when you want to end your meal on a high-note without slaving away over a complicated pud. Serve the fritters drizzled with honey and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Sift together the cornflour, flour and baking powder, and mix together with the sesame seeds in a large bowl. Whisk in the sesame oil and sparkling water, until you have a smooth batter. Gently stir in the chopped bananas. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan, until a crust of bread sizzles and turns golden when dropped in. Spoon the bananas into the hot oil and cook until they are golden brown – you will need to do this in batches. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper. Serve drizzled with honey and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
