Yorkshire 'pudding' with pears and chocolate sauce recipe

Turn classic Yorkshire puddings into a super indulgent dessert that the whole family will love. Piled high with juicy pears, vanilla ice cream and creamy chocolate sauce, this surprising pud will definitely become a firm favourite. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and crumbled amaretti biscuits for a real treat, ready in just 15 minutes. See method
Ingredients
- 1 x 220g pack frozen giant Yorkshire puddings
- 50g dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 50ml double cream
- 1 tbsp golden syrup
- 1 x 410g tin halved pears in syrup
- 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 2 tbsp flaked almonds, toasted, to serve
- 2 amaretti biscuits, crumbled, to serve
If you don't have any pears, try using apples

Method
- Heat the Yorkshire puddings to pack instructions.
- Meanwhile, put the chocolate, cream and golden syrup in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Heat gently, stirring occasionally, until smooth and glossy, then remove from the heat and stir in 1 tbsp boiling water.
- Fill each Yorkshire pudding with 3 pear halves and 2 scoops vanilla ice cream, then drizzle over the chocolate sauce. Sprinkle with the almonds and amaretti biscuits to serve.
