For an easy cocktail idea, try this ginger whisky highball recipe. With smoky whisky and fiery fresh ginger, this simple cocktail for one can be easily doubled up as needed.

Ingredients
- 50ml Scotch whisky
- 1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger, plus a thin slice to serve
- 25ml lime juice, plus a wedge to serve
- 1 tsp runny honey
- 150ml ginger ale
- ice to shake and serve
If you don't have any limes, try a lemon instead

Method
- Combine the whisky, grated ginger and lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 15 seconds.
