A lassi is a cooling and refreshing yogurt-based drink originating from India. This mango one has a salted lime twist for a tangy hit. Garnish with a swirl of mango purée and crushed cardamom pods for a sophisticated tropical-flavoured drink. See method
Ingredients
- 380g 0% fat natural yogurt
- 180g tinned mango pulp
- flaked sea salt
- 2 limes
- 1 tbsp caster sugar
- 2 cardamom pods
If you don't have any limes, try a lemon instead

Method
- Mix the yogurt, the mango pulp (keeping 1 tbsp back), 2 large pinches flaked sea salt and the zest and juice of 1 lime in a jug with 120ml water.
- Mix the caster sugar with 1 tbsp flaked sea salt and add the zest of the other lime; tip onto a plate. Rub the rims of 4 glasses with the cut-side of a lime, then dip into the salt mix to coat.
- Divide the lassi between them. Swirl an extra tbsp of mango purée through each, then sprinkle over the crushed seeds of the cardamom pods. Garnish with extra curls of lime zest, if you like.
